Exploring the Water Cycle

The movement of water through different states across the planet is essential to maintaining life on Earth. This unit is designed to give students a basic understanding of the water cycle, or the movement of water around the planet. We will also be investigating local water distributions as well as debates over local water rights.

A River Run Dry...

Did you know that the Colorado River, the life blood of the western United States, actually no longer makes it to the Pacific Ocean. Before it arrives to what used to be its final destination it is sucked dry by, among others, the many cities, industries, businesses, farms that require its water to survive. As the demand for water increases, the supply of water is drastically decreasing.

We will be investigating some of these problems with water use and the Colorado River by tying in the principles of the water cycl
